★ It is a professional warehouse shelf form designed to carry goods using pallets as the carrier. Each pallet represents a storage location, hence it is also known as pallet rack or location rack. The beam rack mainly consists of upright frames and beams. Its structure is simple, safe, and reliable. Different specifications of materials can be provided for customers to choose from based on factors such as pallet load capacity, pallet size, usable warehouse area, and forklift lifting height.
★ When selecting beam racks, it is necessary to consider the size, weight, and stacking layers of the pallets and goods to determine the appropriate columns and measurement sizes. In addition, to improve space utilization, the aisle width can be reduced, combined with special stackers in a track form, making the storage space vertical, which is known as narrow aisle racks.
★ Compared to shuttle rack storage, the beam rack storage system has fewer storage locations and occupies about 40% more floor space (due to the need for forklift access aisles). It has the advantage of selectable storage locations, with lower single location cost investment (about 30% less than shuttle storage systems). The biggest drawback is that it occupies too much floor space. It is one of the most widely used types of storage racks in the industry.
